(A) Distribution of Rock-Eval® signal for 13 carbonate species analyzed in oxidation step alone (with a 20 °C min−1 heating rate) using 40 mg of sample. Strontianite was analyzed with a Rock-Eval® 7 apparatus to reach temperatures >900 °C at which it decomposes, while the other carbonates were analyzed with Rock-Eval® 6 apparatus. (B) Comparison of TGA signal for 12 carbonate species using the same analytical conditions as for the Rock-Eval®. Cerussite was not analyzed using TGA because of safety reasons.
